2 out of 5 stars Fun while it lasted   February 3, 2010

We bought this for our daughter for Christmas. It lasted four hours before it was in the trash. The seam did not hold up when two kids played in it. If you have an extremely docile child, then this is the ball pit for you!

5 out of 5 stars My son loves it!   November 21, 2009

Picked this up at our local store not knowing the bad reviews it got. Even after reading some of the reviews, we decided to keep it and give it a shot...instead of returning it. Our 2 year old son loves it and we haven't had bad luck with it yet. Its been up for about 3 months now. Sure the tunnel doesn't stay on, but my son plays with it either way. Makes him happy, why should I care? We get alot of use out of it. Its definately the favorite toy and a parents life saver!! Would like to add that you can get this exact one cheaper depending on where you look. Do some research if you want something not too big nor small that will make your little one happy. Money well spent.

My 11 month old son LOVES this ball pit. He climes in and out of it all day long. He loves to stand up in it and has already learned how to put a ball in the correct hole then watch it go down the slide and back into the ball pit.

Drawbacks
- Not enough balls. I bought an additonal 100 balls for about $10 at Target.
- Slide held on by velcro so you need to adjust it in order for the balls to go back into the pit. Once it was adjusted I didn't have to touch it again until my friends kids came over and ripped it off.
- Tunnel is not connected, but does pop into the side of the pit. The problem with this is it then sits off the ground about 1" at the bottom, but my son doesn't seem to mind.

In addition, my friends 2 year old and 4 year old came over and had this thing upside down and pulled apart. It didn't pop, but I would say this is probably more suited for younger children (maybe 9 months - 2 year).

Don't waste your money. This thing is small, flimsy, and doesn't stay together. The ramp for the balls to go down is held on by velcro tabs on either end, and it sags, so the balls have to go UP at the bottom in order to go through the hole. You have to prop it up on something in order for the balls to go down. The tunnel thing is held on by NOTHING. It is free standing. You can tuck the top part in and have it stay there until your child moves inside, then it falls right off. The very few balls tha come with it don't even fit through the hole in the top. My daughter, who, at 18 months old, can't even stand up in it, keeps trying to stick her hands through it to get the balls to come through. She played in it for about 10 minutes, and now she has no interest in it. We're probably going to take it back. I give it 2 stars because it does, in theory, have some educational value. But the construction is very poor.
