pretty good water gun, but more appropriate for older kids May 31, 2010

I bought 3 of these to replace some lame "old school" water guns for our 5 and 7-year olds to add to their porfolio of pool toys. These are anything but lame...I really have to watch myself when shooting them with the kids as they really can shoot a significant stream over 50 feet. I guess the only downside is that they are probably too powerful for younger kids...my daughter actually has a little trouble mustering the strength to shoot it, so I am back shopping for guns that are a little more appropriate for younger kids.

These guns are great fun for water play or in the pool but they are not durable.

We used it while rafting on the Upper Delaware river to assault other rafts with streams of water. It held up just fine to the abuse, and did it's job.
It's effective range however is much less than the packaging claims. The longer ones are much better for range. (We were consistently out-ranged by them, but no matter that's what paddles are for.)

We purchased 2 of these for our boys, age 3 and 6. They have a great time spraying each other. The gun shoots far enough that it is fun to hit trees and even over the top of our shed. They are much sturdier than any other water toys we own and worth the extra money!

Ordered this for my 4 grandkids thinking each could have one water gun. Even though the picture SHOWS 4 water guns, I only received ONE! Nowhere in the product description does it say this price is for ONE Water Sports TL-600 Stream Machine. Just thought you should know.
